This end of the year was marked by the release of several blockbusters. Among the big productions that have been released lately, we find Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This opus taking place after the death of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), was released on November 9 in France.
Black Panther 2 was marked by several changes. Note, for example, the dismissal of Okoye (Danai Gurira) from Dora Milaje. The latter was removed from her position after failing to protect Shuri (Letitia Wright).
Because of this, Okoye felt lost for much of the film. But in the end, she rises from the ashes as Midnight Angel.
An alternate ending hinted at by Danai Gurira
Danai Gurira recently spoke with Deadline. During this interview, she confided that Okoye had to have a completely different ending. Danai Gurira explained that her character’s story arc should end by revealing that she will not be returning to Dora Milaje.
“And then there is [une scène] key for me, which really shows my character saying goodbye to Shuri, and she unexpectedly catches up with her in Haiti, and Shuri says to her, “Are you coming back to the Doras? and my character says no. »
What future for Okoye?
According to Danai Gurira, when Shuri asks Okoye where she is going, she replies: “Wherever my blue jumpsuit takes me”. Danai Gurira described this moment as being ” beautiful “.
Ryan Coogler would have compared this scene to that of a kung fu movie “where the dude just walks on earth”. Danai Gurira said Okoye’s future is a mystery for now.
“We don’t know where she is going. And she kind of lets herself go. She fought to keep this position, and then she let it go. It’s a bit of her bow, that she lets go. And we don’t know where that leads. »
It will be recalled that rumors concerning a spin-off dedicated to Okoye have recently circulated on the web. But nothing is certain about this yet.
