House of the Dragon continues to air on HBO. This first Game of Thrones spin-off was released on August 21 and is currently in its 6th episode. A lot has happened since the very first episode of the series. And in the meantime, we were entitled to a time jump of ten years.

In episode 6 of House of the Dragon, we discover an adult Rhaenyra Targaryen. We realize that despite the years that have passed, the latter still shares a unique bond with her uncle Daemon Targaryen. This link is such that he managed to seduce her during a nocturnal getaway.

But Daemon ditched Rhaenyra before anything happened between them, much to the annoyance of fans of the show!

A couple awaited by the fans

From the beginning, fans noticed the ambiguity of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship. And episode 5 of House of the Dragon confirmed the attraction they felt for each other. Today, many fans of the series are hoping for the uncle and niece to pair up.

In an interview with the Variety site, showrunner Ryan Condal spoke about the reaction of fans after the broadcast of episode 5:

Nothing surprises me these days. I really had no idea what people were going to do with it. It’s part of the story and I think that’s what makes it fascinating, because it’s sort of taboo in our modern sensibilities. But, yeah, it’s amazing the power that a great performance can have on how people view the characters. »

Soon as a couple?

According to Ryan Condal, if the couple that could form Daemon and Rhaenyra meets as much success, it is largely thanks to the actors.

“All credit goes to Matt and Milly and will soon go to Matt and Emma as well, because you’ll see they have a complex relationship too. »

Pur whether Daemon and Rhaenyra will get together, Ryan Condal has not spoken. The showrunner merely said that Daemon “shapes what Rhaenyra becomes. »

We will have to continue watching the series to be fixed on the future of this unlikely duo.
