Rachel Zegler was terrified of the original artwork

Disney brings its great classics up to date. And to seduce the new generation, the entertainment giant has decided to turn to live-action adaptations. Works like Aladdin, Cinderella or even Mulan were entitled to their adaptation in live action.

Soon, it will be Snow White that we will be able to discover in live-action. She will be played on screen by actress Rachel Zegler. After having burst the screen in West Side Story, the latter was announced to the casting of Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds.

Remember that the announcement of the casting of Rachel Zegler was not unanimous. For some, the actress would not make a good Snow White because of her Colombian origins.

The secrets of Rachel Zegler

Rachel Zegler recently spoke with the EW site. It was during this exchange that she confided in her feelings about the Disney classic. And the actress revealed she was terrified of the original work when she was little.

“I was afraid of the original cartoon. I think I watched it once, and never watched it again. I’m really serious, I watched it once, and then I went to DisneyWorld to an attraction called “Snow White’s Scary Adventures.” It doesn’t sound like something a child would like, it terrified me and I didn’t want to revisit Snow White again. I watched it for the first time in probably 16 or 17 years when I made the movie. »

A release planned for 2024

The live-action adaptation of Snow White will be directed by Marc Webb. In the casting, we will find Andrew Burnap in the role of Prince Jonathan. Gal Gadot, meanwhile, will play the Evil Queen.

During the D23 Expo, the latter revealed that it took 4 hours to transform her into the old witch who poisoned Snow White. This means that this live-action adaptation will not use the CGI.

As for the release of the film, it will take a lot of patience. Indeed, Snow White will not arrive until 2024 in dark rooms.
