Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) posts a moving message for Star Wars fans

September 21 was marked by the arrival of Andor on Disney+. Set 5 years before the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, the series follows the adventures of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) as he participates in the beginnings of the resistance against the Galactic Empire as a spy in the Rebel Alliance.

Cassian Andor isn’t the only iconic character from the Star Wars franchise to return to this series. Indeed, we can also count on the presence of Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reily). Of course new faces will also appear over the episodes.

And according to Tony Gilroy, the creator of the series, we should not get too attached to these characters.

Tony Gilroy announces many deaths

Tony Gilroy recently spoke with the Hollywood Reporter site. During this interview, he wanted to warn fans of the Star Wars franchise. The creator of Andor revealed that many characters will be called upon to die in the series. He therefore advises us not to get too attached to them.

“I had to make about 30 calls to contact the actors who were going to continue with us. I had to call them and say, “Hey, that’s what I believe. It’s where you live. This is where you die. You will be present during these episodes. I mean, the death toll is high, but people are surviving. It’s a revolution. It’s a really intense time. People do dangerous things. Some people live and some don’t. »

A second season is on the way

Andor’s first season has just begun. However, it has already been said that the series will be entitled to a season 2. Like season 1, it will have 12 episodes.

Tony Gilroy said that this second season will take place over 4 years. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the creator of the series expressed his desire to accelerate the narration of Andor.

“What happens now if we take a different pace and use each block of three as a year, and we leave these huge gaps in between, and we make this negative space into something really huge, fantastic and important? »
