The capacity of the batteries of the new iPhones has been revealed by a Chinese organization. The opportunity to make a comparison between the previous generation of iPhone and the iPhone 14.
Apple unveiled its new series of smartphones last week. It must be recognized that most of us are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iPhone 14 on the market. If all goes well, these should be available over the next few days. During the event “Far Out” which was held last Wednesday, September 7, the American firm hinted that the iPhone 14 Plus has the “best battery life ever seen on an iPhone”. Unfortunately, it did not provide any details on the capacity of the batteries of its new flagships. Today, we learn via our colleagues from 91mobiles that information on this subject has leaked through a Chinese regulatory database.
Find out below what the new iPhones offer in terms of power.
A comparison with the iPhone 13
In fact, it’s MacRumours who first spotted the publication of the Chinese body. And the least we can say is that these details that have recently emerged are not totally new. Last June, an unofficial source had already shared the same information. As our source points out, the file reveals the battery size of each of the models that make up the iPhone 14 family. As a reminder, this is made up of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The list makes a comparison with the iPhone 13. We know that compared to the battery capacity of the standard version of the iPhone 13, that of the iPhone 14 is slightly higher, i.e. 3279 mAh vs 3227 mAh for the previous generation. This year, Apple skipped the mini version, which was replaced by a Plus model. The iPhone 14 Plus has a powerful battery of 4325mAhwhile its predecessor had a model with a capacity of 2406 mAh.
What about the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max?
For its part, the iPhone 14 Pro is powered by a cell with a capacity of 3200mAh. A slight increase compared to that of the iPhone 13 Pro which displayed 3095 mAh. Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max may disappoint us a little because Apple has opted for a less powerful battery than that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Concretely, the new Pro Max variant has a 4323 mAh battery, while its direct predecessor was powered by a battery of 4352mAh.
Admittedly, this drop in capacity may make you skeptical, but be aware that the real autonomy of a smartphone does not necessarily depend on the power of its accumulator. Other parameters come into play such as software optimizations as well as processor features.
