here's why the interpreters of Alicent and Rhaenyra didn't spend a lot of time together on the set

Definitely, not a day goes by that we don’t hear about House of the Dragon. It must be said that the spin-off of Game of Thrones started very strong. As revealed by the American channel HBO, the first two episodes of the series recorded audience records. And the longer the time, the more people the show attracts.

House of the Dragon is inspired by the novel Fire & Blood by George RR Martin. It takes place around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and introduces us to the ancestors of the Targaryen family. Thanks to House of the Dragon, we were able to meet Rhaenyra Targaryen in particular.

The latter is none other than the daughter of King Viserys I Targaryen and heir to the Iron Throne.

A big opportunity for Milly Alcock

Milly Alcock plays the young version of Rhaenyra Targaryen. And this is the first major role of his career. Before that, we could see her in 2021 in the film Furlough by Phoebe Tonkin. She also made an appearance in the drama series Upright.

When Game of Thrones was at the height of its glory, Milly Alcock was only 10 years old. She had therefore never seen the series and was unaware of the scope that House of the Dragon would have when she auditioned for the role of Rhaenyra. It wasn’t until after her audition that she discovered it was a role that could change her life.

Shocked

Milly Alcock recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her role in House of the Dragon. She notably told how she reacted when she learned that she had obtained the role of Rhaenyra.

“I got a call and obviously couldn’t tell anyone. I just fell to the ground. I asked my friend if he had wine and I really couldn’t tell him why. He thought something horrible had happened. He said to me: “Someone is sick, someone is dead, something catastrophic has happened. I couldn’t tell anyone for a very long time. I was surprised by the size of the role. I was just shocked. »

After getting the role, Milly Alcock binge-watched Game of Thrones to prepare for her role.
