House of the Dragon was one of the most anticipated series this year. And on August 21, we were finally able to discover the first episode of this Game of Thrones spin-off. As expected, House of the Dragon got off to a flying start.
The performance of the first episode was such that the series has already been renewed for a second season. Even though the first episode of the series won over Game of Thrones fans, there was one element that they did not appreciate.
The latter pointed to the absence of credits in the series.
Disgruntled fans
The first episode of House of the Dragon had no credits. At the start of this one, we just got the Targaryen family crest. The latter appeared a few seconds before disappearing.
Game of Thrones fans didn’t appreciate the first episode’s lack of credits. And they made it clear on the web. On Twitter, many of them criticized this choice. According to them, the creators of the series could have at least reused the credits of Game of Thrones.
The story is settled
Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, the creators of the series, reacted to comments from fans on social media. The latter explained that the absence of credits was “a creative choice” on their part. According to them, they didn’t want to dwell on the credits and get straight to the heart of the matter.
“Once the curtain was up, we wanted to go right on and tell the story. »
The generic problem was quickly solved. Indeed, the second episode of the series has finally been entitled to its own. Lasting 1 minute 38, this credits uses the same music as Game of Thrones. Unlike the one in the original series, this one contains fewer elements. As a reminder, the credits of Game of Thrones contained elements referring to the characters and places in which the action of the series took place.
In any case, what is certain is that the fans of the show will be delighted with this new credits.
