Get out the tissues, Zack Snyder fans. Despite the fine gift made by Warner with the Justice League of the director in 2021, his universe no longer exists for the major. Worse still for the community, the company believes that Joss Whedon’s version is cannon, enough to annoy more than one. Despite the foundations laid to expand the universe, Zack Snyder’s DCEU is over. Since the takeover of Warner by Discovery, it is difficult to know what direction DC Comics is taking in cinema, especially since the film Batgirl has been cancelled. Without forgetting that the characters of the director are always present with the upcoming arrival of The Flash, Wonder Woman 3 or Aquaman 2 in which Ben Affleck dons the Batman costume. And during an appearance at the Sarajevo Film Festival, the interpreter of Lex Luthor in the DCEU, Jesse Eisenberg, was asked about this (via WGTC).
In full promotion of his first film as a director called When You Finish Saving the World, the actor responds positively to a possible return.
But the man admits it, such a proposal would be surprising.

A return “would be a pleasant shock” for the actor
Jess Eisenberg was asked about his role as Lex Luthor in the DCEU. The actor reveals that he was rushed by fan reception after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the post-credits scene of Justice League (2017 version).
Without being a big fan of comics, the man respects the writing of Lex Luthor and is not ashamed of it. He even says open to returning as Superman’s nemesis although such a possibility would surprise him since Zack Snyder’s DCEU is dead.
I would be shocked if I found myself in a DC Comics movie but it would be a pleasant shock. Because as an actor you do all kinds of different things. Sometimes great roles are in commercial projects and sometimes they are terrible roles in independent films.
Jesse Eisenberg
But don’t expect a return from Jesse Eisenberg or Zack Snyder. Warner’s new management seems to have turned the page. And Discovery seems much less talkative than previous leaders. The proof with the treatment of Batgirl and his team or the maintenance of The Flash despite the Ezra Miller controversy.
