Spider-Man: No Way Home was released last December. This third installment in the franchise left the door open for many possibilities for Spider-Man’s future in the MCU. For now, nothing is sure about the fourth part of the saga. Despite this, Spider-Man fans already have quite a few theories about it.
According to them, if this sequel sees the light of day, it could make Ned (Jacob Batalon), the enemy of Peter (Tom Holland). For months some MCU fans have been claiming that Spider-Man’s best friend was going to turn into a supervillain.
Initially, they thought Ned was going to be the Super-Buffoon. But for a few days, some of them believe that there is a better chance that he will turn into Venom.
Where does the Super-Jester theory come from?
The Super-Jester theory has its origins in the comics. In these works, Ned is a reporter for the Daily Bugle. He works alongside Peter and competes with him to win Betty Brandt’s affection.
At one point, Ned witnesses the fight between Spider-Man and the Super-Goblin. He is captured by the latter who ends up brainwashing him. The Super-Jester then takes control of his mind and makes him a scapegoat. Word begins to spread and while Peter is on a mission in Berlin, Ned is killed by the Stranger. It is only later that Peter and Betty discover the identity of the real Super-Buffoon.
A new theory about Ned
The theory that Ned turns into Super-Jester, however, is starting to be abandoned by MCU fans. For them, there is more chance for Venom to take possession of the latter.
In the comics, there is no connection between Ned Leeds and Venom. But after a symbiote is left behind by Venom himself in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans think it might take over Peter’s body before jumping into Ned’s.
And you, what do you think of this theory?
