It’s official: Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania will be released on February 17, 2023! This third part of the adventures of Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the first film of phase 5 of the MCU. Directed by Peyton Reed, this film will follow the adventures of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) through the Quantum Realm.
In this third part, our heroes will face Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). This villain introduced in Loki’s first season won’t make it easy for Scott and Hope. And apart from Kang, the latter will have other concerns to settle.
Indeed, as revealed by Evangeline Lilly, this third film will not be easy for the Wasp.
The Wasp will be in a delicate position
Evangeline Lilly spoke with our colleagues at Screen Rant during Comic-Con 2022, which was held in San Diego. During this interview, she teased what awaited her character in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania. According to her, the Wasp will find it difficult to face the Quantum Realm.
The latter will see her mother return from an alternate dimension. And that will put a strain on his emotions.
“It’s a very important point in the history of Hope. This is going to bring up a lot of emotions in Hope, knowing that she lost her mother for so long in this place, and she doesn’t know anything about it. In fact, it’s a beautiful question that gets us to the heart of Hope’s struggle and vulnerability in this film. »
An important part of the MCU
The Quantum Realm has become a very important part of the MCU. He was notably central to the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp. As a reminder, Scott, Hope and Hank had traveled to the Quantum Realm to try to save Janet who has been imprisoned there for 30 years.
It was also thanks to the Quantum Realm that Scott survived Thanos’ snap. In addition to returning safely from the Quantum Realm, he found a way to use it to reverse the effects of Thanos’ snap.
Given that Kang has the ability to travel through time and space, Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania should take us to the heart of the Quantum Realm like in Avengers: Endgame.
