The countdown begins for MCU fans. On November 9, they can rush to cinemas to see the highly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This film follows the first part released in 2018 and which was a hit. Black Panther had then made 1.3 billion in box office revenue worldwide.
Ryan Coogler will return to direct Black Panther 2. This feature film will unfortunately be done without Chadwick Boseman, the interpreter of King T’Challa. As a reminder, the latter died in 2020 from cancer.
Out of respect for the work carried out by Chadwick Boseman, Ryan Coogler did not wish to replace him. The actor will therefore leave a huge void in the second part.
New plot details
A few days ago, our colleagues from the Screen Rant site spoke with Florence Kasumba during Comic-Con held in San Diego. During their exchange, the actress who plays Ayo in Black Panther 2 made revelations about the plot of the film. According to her, Wakanda will be able to count on new allies who will help it face new threats after the death of King T’Challa.
“How has Wakanda changed? Life has gone on, and there are a lot of issues that need to be resolved. In this one, there are threats, and with the help of the Wakandians and their allies, things have to be managed. »
Who are Wakanda’s new allies?
Florence Kasumba did not give any information concerning the identity of these new allies. However, some of them have already been shown in the movie trailer. These include Riri Williams, alias Ironheart, played by Dominique Thorne.
The latter is a heroine who will make her debut in the MCU thanks to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Riri Williams is a genius who studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Taking inspiration from Iron Man, the latter built her own armor with materials stolen from campus.
Riri Williams will be entitled to her own series on Disney+. Titled IronHeart, this program will air in the fall of 2023.
