This Actor Opens Up About His Character's Death (Spoiler Alert!)

Season 4 of Stranger Things has caused a lot of ink to flow. This was made up of actions, reunions, revelations but also deaths. Indeed, several characters lost their lives in season 4. Some of them were mourned by the fans and others weren’t.

Among the characters who did not survive the fourth season of Stranger Things, we find Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine). This recurring character in the series is at the origin of the experiments carried out on Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). In season 4, the one who also calls himself Papa managed to get his hands on Eleven to conduct new experiments.

Unfortunately for him, that’s the last thing he’ll do.

A tragic fate

The new experiments carried out by Dr. Brenner were intended to help Eleven recover her powers. And as we have seen in the series, these have worked. After regaining her powers, Eleven burrowed out of the lab to find her friends.

At the same time, the laboratory was attacked by the military. Dr. Brenner managed to escape, but his escape did not last long. Indeed, the latter was shot as he fled. This, of course, ended in his death.

Matthew Modine gives his opinion

Matthew Modine recently spoke with Vulture magazine. During this interview, the actor returned to the end of Dr. Brenner. He thus hinted that this might not really be the end of his character.

“I don’t want him to die. Three things strike me as curious: How did he survive the Demogorgons? How did he survive number one? And when Eleven tried to use her power against Dr. Brenner after blowing up three guards, he confronted him saying, “You didn’t think it would be this easy, did you?” She couldn’t make it work on him. Is there more to Brenner than what we see? I don’t want to believe it’s over, because I love the Duffers brothers. »

Matthew Modine added that he was also looking forward to working with Millie Bobby Brown again.
